The situation
Planning a multi-day ride for a group of friends happens in a group chat: dates nobody can agree on, a route in one person's head, a spreadsheet for the rooms, and an argument about who paid for fuel. The ride is great; the planning is the part everyone avoids.
What we built
- Start a trip in a minute: name, dates, invite the crew by link. No account required to join.
- AI route sketching: describe the ride you want and get a draft route with stops to react to.
- Crew availability so the dates get chosen by the people who can come.
- Blind voting on stops, so nobody's choice is swayed by who proposed it.
- Room assignments and expense splitting in the same place as the route.
- Discover: public trips others have planned, for ideas.

How it is built
A mobile-first web app with join-by-link, maps and a language model that drafts routes from a description. The interesting engineering is in making a shared plan feel instant for a group of people editing it from the road.
For the engineer reading along: Python and FastAPI, a mapping API for routing and places, an LLM for route sketching with the output validated before it is shown, link-based guest access with optional accounts, installable as a web app on a phone.

Running it
Shared infrastructure, its own process, monitored by Watchdog, with a periodic audit for bugs and security issues that we run against all of our consumer products.
